Dear CTU Amigo,
Centro de Trabajadores Unidos–United Workers’ Center is turning 11 years old this fall! Eleven years ago we had a vision of building a strong community on the Southeast Side that would stand against unfair wages and working conditions. We remain committed to the grassroots led vision we had when we first began and continue to work towards building a strong local economy where every worker and community member is afforded dignity and respect.
We hope that you join us for a night of dinner, music and dance as we celebrate our successes this past year. Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 29 from 5:00 PM to 10:00PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (3200 E. 91st St). The theme of his year’s dinner will be: Creating Innovative Opportunities to Enrich our Communities.
We have exciting milestones coming our way with the construction of our Southeast Side Community Center, new cooperative initiatives, continued civic engagement, labor campaigns and organizing work. On the eve of our 11th year anniversary, we invite you to join us as we continue to build upon this legacy.
Dinner will be begin at 5:30pm followed by a program at 6:30pm and music and dancing at 7:30pm.

Over the last year we focused heavily on leadership development and capacity building with our members and took on new organizing campaigns to hold local employers and elected officials accountable to the workers in our communities. Every little bit of support will help with our continued efforts to increase outreach to workers and families from communities across Southeast Chicago and the South Suburbs.
